The position is placed within the Culture and Leisure Administration, which is one of eight administrations in Linköping Municipality. Your Responsibilities

You will work at Ekholmen Library and build relationships with library visitors, where customer service and interaction are your primary focus. Your work includes media work and meeting, guiding, and assisting visitors. You will also work to some extent with various programs and exhibitions. You will work outwardly in close collaboration with your colleagues in the team.

Ekholmen and Sturefors local libraries form a unit, which means you may need to support Sturefors local library in case of illness, for example. Evening work is included in the position, and weekend work may occur.

Your Workplace

Linköping City Library consists of 12 library units that work together to operate and develop Linköping City Library. We want the library to be an interactive meeting place for everyone. Central to us is working with democracy, education, and culture. We focus on prioritized target groups, operate outside our own premises, collaborate with other organizations, and increase the culture of participation. We aim to create space for innovation and open up for new cultural expressions in close cooperation with other cultural activities.

Linköping City Library, together with other public libraries in Östergötland and Tranås, forms the Götabiblioteken. The goal of Götabiblioteken is to bring people together, make knowledge come alive, spark imagination, and enable everyone to discover and learn to create a strong and sustainable society where everyone can achieve their dreams.

In Ekholmen, there is a well-visited local library with many active visitors and a large selection of media. Visitors of all ages and diverse interests come here. Sturefors is a more open library, which means you can also visit the library when it is not staffed. Both in Ekholmen and Sturefors, collaboration with other actors is significant.

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone with a university or college degree in a relevant field for the position, such as library and information science. Experience working in libraries is an advantage, and we prefer candidates with good knowledge of literature. Additionally, experience in customer service and interaction is desirable, as well as good computer skills to assist library users with services and technology available through the library. Since the role involves a lot of contact and communication with others, proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written, is required.

It is important that you are good at collaborating with others, while also enjoying working independently and taking responsibility for your tasks. We believe it is a significant advantage if you like working in an environment that requires flexibility. You have an inclusive approach and are good at engaging colleagues. It is also essential that you are confident in yourself and maintain professionalism in your interactions with our visitors. We expect you to put the visitor at the center and have the desire and ability to provide service in a responsive, clear, and inclusive manner.
